Page Sync is different from Audible listening on a compatible Kindle. This feature uses the Audible app and a phone camera to locate the text in a physical book; Kindle audio compatibility is a separate device question.
Audible app steps
Open the player, grant camera access, and scan the page.
- Open the matching audiobook in the Audible app. Start with the audiobook that corresponds to the physical book in front of you.
- Select the player's three-dot More menu. Audible places Page Sync in this overflow menu.
- Select Page Sync and grant camera permission. Camera permission is needed the first time you use the feature.
- Hold the camera over the physical-book page. Keep the text fully inside the camera frame. Audible says the app captures and recognizes the text automatically.
- Confirm the jump before you continue listening. The audiobook should move to the matching position; if it does not, use the checks below instead of assuming the title was downloaded incorrectly.
Limits and troubleshooting
Most failures are an eligibility, connection, camera, or text-match issue.
Audible excludes podcasts, Audible Originals without a book equivalent, Kids Profiles, and children's picture books from Page Sync. It also says the feature works with any physical-book edition only when that edition's text matches the audiobook; page numbers can differ between editions, and Audible recommends using an edition that closely matches the audiobook for the most reliable result.
If the feature cannot find the place, check that the phone has an active connection and that its camera permission is enabled. Then flatten the page, improve the lighting, and ensure all of the text is visible in the frame. What to know before relying on a scan.
Can I use Audible Page Sync with any book?
No. Audible says Page Sync is available for certain English-language audiobooks. The audiobook must correspond to the physical book, and some content types are explicitly unsupported.
Does Page Sync require the same printed edition?
Not necessarily. Audible says Page Sync can work with any physical edition when the text matches the audiobook, but it works best when the edition closely matches. Treat page-number differences as a reason to check the text match rather than as proof the feature is unavailable.
Can Page Sync replace a downloaded audiobook on a flight?
No. Audible says Page Sync needs an active internet connection even though the audiobook does not need to be downloaded. Downloading a title and matching a physical page are separate tasks.
