Can you use Audible credits for Plus Catalog books?

A credit can buy a title marked with Audible's 1 credit badge, including a title that is also currently included. The useful distinction is not whether the title appears in your Library, but whether you have membership-based access or a purchase that is separate from that membership.

Included access and a credit purchase solve different problems.

This is why spending a credit on an included title is optional rather than required. If the exact edition is still included and you expect to finish it during an active membership, included access may answer the immediate need. If retaining that exact title independently of future catalog changes is important, check whether the title offers a current credit-purchase option.

Before you redeem

Confirm the live label and decide what kind of access you need.

1. Open the exact audiobook listing. Narrator, language, runtime, and purchase options can differ by edition. Check the specific listing rather than assuming another version has the same status.
2. Look for the access label. Audible says titles without a 1 credit label are either included in the Plus Catalog or already in your Library. Use the Included in your membership filter in the app when you are looking for catalog titles.
3. Check whether a credit purchase is actually offered. Audible says credits can be used for titles marked with the 1-credit badge. Do not redeem a credit based on a stale screenshot, recommendation, or an assumption that every title uses the same options.
4. Choose the access that matches your plan. A current included title can be enough for a near-term listen. If you need a separate purchase before a cancellation, pause, or potential catalog departure, use the title's live credit or payment option instead.

If your membership changes

Do not confuse a downloaded included title with a purchase.

Audible says a Plus Catalog title becomes unavailable if the eligible membership is cancelled or paused, or if the title leaves the catalog. Downloading the title for offline listening does not convert it into a purchase. Audible separately says titles bought with a credit or payment card remain yours to keep, including if they are also in the Plus Catalog.
